Library Information

The intent of your instruction session and this guide is to provide you with assistance with researching your topics. During the session, I will cover the following areas:

  • Formulating your search strategy
  • Searching the catalog and other databases, including the differences between them
  • Finding material once you have a citation
  • Reading a bibliography and citation

Hopefully at the end of this session you will have a better understanding of how to do your research. If you encounter any difficulty along the way, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me or my colleagues.

Consortium Libraries for HSS

The Cooper Union Library is a member of the Research Library Association of South Manhattan, a consortium of academic libraries established in 1977. Consortium libraries share an online catalog and provide faculty and students of member institutions with access to each other's collections.

Cooper Union faculty and students may borrow at the Consortium libraries. Make sure that you have your library account activated and updated at our Circulation Desk prior to going to the other libraries.
